The Underpinning of an Author

She…allowed me to lock myself up for two days and two nights UNINTERRUPTED to get the final edits/rewrites of the book done.

This is the final manuscript of Critical—the third book in my Maryn O’Brien Series—completed on schedule—YAY!—thanks to the brilliance, patience, and encouragement of my editor Marie Bilodeau and to the generous support of my sister Jodi. Jodi swooped into Ottawa to help me look after our parents when Dad had a serious health challenge. (He is doing well now.) She prepared meals, drove Mom and Dad to appointments, visited with my parents and family, made me cups of hot tea, and literally allowed me to lock myself up for two days and two nights UNINTERRUPTED to get the final edits/rewrites of the book done. Critical is now in the hands of my talented designer Jen Hamilton and will be published by Dog-Eared Books this September. Phew!
